Miguel Arias-Estrada

Miguel Arias-Estrada received the B.Eng.
degree in communications and electronics,
and the M.Eng. degree in electronics
from the Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico,
in 1990 and 1992, respectively, and the
Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from
the Université Laval in Quebec, Canada, in
1998. From 1997 to 1998, he was with the
Electrical and Computer Engineering Department,
Université Laval in Canada. Since
1998 he is a Researcher at the Computer Science Department,
the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics
(INAOE) in Puebla, Mexico. His current research interests are in
FPGA and VLSI architectures for real-time computer vision, realtime
3D recovery, FPGA implementation of spiking neural networks,
smart cameras, and evolutionary engineering applied to
hardware design.
