Dr. Xinyong Li is currently a Professor of Chemistry and the Director of the Environmental Catalysis & Materials Division at Key Laboratory of Industrial Ecology and Environmental Engineering (MOE), School of Environmental Science & Technology, Dalian University of Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997. He was honored as a Tin Ka Ping Visiting Scholar in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2009. He has conducted high-quality and innovative research in the fields of Nanotechnology, Solar Energy Conversion, Green Chemistry and Environmental Catalysis. He has coauthored more than 140 peer-reviewed journal papers, review articles, patents and book chapters, and tens of technical presentations. He also serves on some national panels on Nanotechnology, Environmental Sciences and Energy Conversion processes as well as many review committees for the international academy. Dr. Li's recent research is focused on: 1. Light and/or thermal induced catalytic reactions using semiconductor and metal nanoparticles, nanostructures and nanocomposites; 2. Advanced novel functional materials such as low dimensional hybrid assemblies for utilizing renewable energy resources and hydrogen production; 3. Environmental remediation using advanced oxidation processes, green catalytic fixation of CO2 and chemical and biological sensors.
