Hossain Md Anawar
Hossain Md Anawar joined the University of Western Australia, Perth, WA, Australia, as a Researcher in May 2012. He earned the B.S. (with honors) and M.S. degrees in chemistry, 2nd Masters in Earth Science, and the Ph.D. degree in environmental geochemistry from Niigata University, Niigata, Japan. He served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Visiting Professor, and Researcher in the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa), Instituto Tecnologico e Nuclear (Portugal), Instituto de Recursos Naturales e Agrobiologia (Salamanca, Spain), Charles University in Prague and Hiroshima University (Japan). He also worked as a Research Scholar at the University of Botswana (Botswana), and Lecturer of chemistry in the Independent University Bangladesh (IUB). Dr. Hossain has 43 publications in refereed international journals. His research interests include environmental and analytical chemistry; neutron activation analysis; nutrients and trace elements in soils and crops; health risk; stable isotope and geochemistry; biogeochemical cycling of trace elements in groundwater, wetlands, mine tailings affected lands, and acid mine water; phytoremediation.
