Alexandre Sanfelice Bazanella

Alexandre Sanfelice Bazanella received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 1997 and has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (in Porto Alegre, Brazil) ever since. He has held Visiting Professor appointments at the Universidade Federal da Paraiba and at the Universite Catholique de Louvain, where he spent a sabbatical year in 2006. Moreover, he has served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology and is presently acting as an Editor of Controle and AutomaƧão, the Journal of The Brazilian Automation Society. His main research interests are presently in system identification and data-driven control design, but he has also authored a number of papers in nonlinear systems theory, particularly its application to electric power systems and electrical machines.
