Iris Alvarez-Armas obtained her M.S. degree in physics at the Buenos Aires National University and received her Ph.D. degree in physics at the National University of Rosario, Rosario, Argentina. Then, she made a postdoctoral study at the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Germany. She was several times an "Invited Professor" in Ecole Centrale de Lille, France. Her research topic is in physical metallurgy. Presently, she is Professor at the National University of Rosario and responsible for the Laboratory of Electron Microscopy in the Rosario Physics Institute IFIR-CONICET.
