Kamil Kuca

Kamil Kuca received an M.S. degree from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague (Czech Republic) in organic chemistry, 2001 and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Defense, Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic) in toxicology, 2005. From 2001 to 2006, Kuca was a University Teacher and Research Fellow at the Department of Toxicology, Faculty of Military Health Sciences, University of Defense, Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic); from 2006 to 2009, an Assistant Professor at the Centre of Advanced Studies, Faculty of Military Health Sciences, University of Defense, Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic); from 2006 to 2009, an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, J.E. Purkinje University, Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic). Since 2009, Kuca has been an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Military Health Sciences, University of Defense, Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic), since 2010 a Vice Dean for Science at the Faculty of Military Health Sciences, University of Defense, Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic), and since 2011 Chief of Research Team at the University Hospital, Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic). Kuca's research interests are synthesis and testing (in vitro and in vivo) of novel acetylcholinesterase reactivators as treatment of nerve agent and pesticide intoxications; relationship between the structure of acetylcholinesterase modulators (reactivators and inhibitors) and their ability to modulate enzyme activity; acetylcholinesterase inhibitors in Alzheimer's disease and myasthenia gravis treatment; synthesis of the detergents as disinfectants, decontamination means, and environment for micellar catalysis; drug design and development; chemical warfare agents; scientific management; toxins.
