Rajnish Sharma holds a Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering from the Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. He received his B.Tech. degree in mechanical engineering and M.Tech. degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. His areas of expertise are optimal control, space systems, flight dynamics, dynamic systems, and nonlinear control. Sharma has over 4 years of teaching experience as a Faculty Member at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL, USA. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Princess Anne, MD, USA. In addition to teaching the basic core engineering courses such as statics, dynamics, and control systems, he is very much involved in developing and teaching mechanical and aerospace specialization courses such as space systems design, space navigation and guidance, design of autonomous aerial systems, and mechatronics/robotics. His research interests are optimal feedback control, trajectory optimization, nonlinear control, and space/flight mechanics.
