Jorge Rivera

Jorge Rivera was born in El Rosario, Sinaloa, Mexico, in 1975. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Advanced Studies and Research Center of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV IPN), Campus Guadalajara, Mexico, in 2001 and 2005, respectively. In 2003, he visited the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of L'Aquila, Italy, where he worked under the supervision of Stefano Di Gennaro. Since 2006, he has been working at Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico, as a Professor of electrical engineering within undergraduate programs. His research interest centers on sliding mode control, regulator theory, discrete-time nonlinear control systems, and their applications to electrical machines and robotics.
