Tomaso Erseghe was born in Valdagno, Italy, in 1972. He received the B.Eng. degree (summa cum laude) in telecommunication and the Ph.D. degree from the Universita' degli Studi di Padova, Padova, Italy, in 1996 and 2002, respectively. From 1997 to 1999, he had been working for Snell & Wilcox, a British broadcast equipment manufacturer. Currently, (and since 2003) T. Erseghe is an Assistant Professor (a Ricercatore) at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova. He is mainly interested in digital communication systems, with a specific interest in ultra-wideband transmission: low-complexity and high-performance receiver design and implementation, interference suppression methods, and localization and ranging algorithms. He has also a strong background on fractional Fourier transforms and their applications. Currently, he is also involved in distributed smart grid optimization and management and consensus algorithms.
