Sebastiano Cavallaro
Sebastiano Cavallaro works currently as a Senior Researcher in the Institute of Neurological Sciences and a Scientific Director of the Functional Genomics Center, Institute of Neurological Sciences, at the Italian National Research Council, Catania, Italy. He obtained his M.D. degree from the University of Catania, Catania, Italy, and his Ph.D. degree in anatomy and cell biology from Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA. He also completed a residency in neurology at the University of Catania. He worked for about five years at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes (NINDS), Bethesda, Md, USA, and at the Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute Morgantown, WVa, USA. His primary research interests include genomics and neurobiology, the study of cognition and neurodegeneration, and the design and application of molecular diagnostic tools.
