Markus Friedrich

Markus Friedrich received a Diploma in biology in 1991 from the University of M√ľnchen, Munich, Germany and a Ph.D. degree in biology in 1995 from the same university. Friedrich was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the field of evolutionary developmental biology from 1996 to 1999 in the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif, USA. He also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich, USA from 1999 to 2004. He currently works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Wayne State University. Markus Friedrich's areas of expertise are the evolution of development, insect visual system, and cave adaptation.
