Ruijiang Hong is a Professor at the Institute for Solar Energy Systems, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. He received his M.S. degree in materials science and engineering from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Science, China, on the synthesis, characterization, and application of thin films. He started his Ph.D. program at Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films (IST), Germany, on the transparent conductive oxides (TCOs), where he obtained his Dr.-Ing. degree in 2004. Then, he joined the Institute of Materials Engineering, University of Siegen, as a Postdoctoral Researcher. His research interests are in the area of photovoltaic technologies and applications.
