Jianming Qiu obtained his Ph.D. degree from Chinese Center for Disease Control, Beijing, China, in 1994. He conducted his postdoctoral studies at Hematology Branch, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, NIH, in 1996, and Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, University of Missouri-Columbia, in 2000. He currently is an associate professor at Department of Microbiology, Molecular Genetics & Immunology, University of Kansas Medical Center. His research is focused on molecular pathogenesis of parvoviruses, including parvovirus B19 and human bocavirus. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals.
