Pietro Strisciuglio

Pietro Strisciuglio was born in Angri (SA), Italy, in 1949. He received the M.D degree from University Federico II of Naples, Italy, in 1974 and was certified in Board of Pediatrics in 1977. Since 1980, he has been a Research Associate at Division of Medical Genetics of Washington University in St. Louis, USA. In 1982, he was an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in Naples; in 1994, he became an Associate Professor of pediatrics at the University of Catanzaro and finally in 2001 Professor of pediatrics at the same university, where he became Director of Pediatric Unit and Pediatric Residency Training Program. Currently, he is Professor of pediatrics at the University Federico II of Naples. He is mainly interested in the diagnosis and therapy of genetic and metabolic diseases. His research is focused on genetic heterogeneity of lysosomal diseases and carbonic anhydrase II deficiency.
