Qi Yang

Qi Yang received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in metallic materials from Zhejiang University, Zhejiang, China, in 1987 and 1989, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in materials engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada, in 2000. He joined Structures and Materials & Manufacturing Laboratory, Aerospace Portfolio, National Research Council Canada (NRC) in 2000. Presently, he is a Senior Research Officer at NRC and an Adjunct Professor of Carleton University, with a main research interest in developing advanced coatings for aerospace applications. His expertise is in materials characterizations, surface engineering, nanostructured coatings, hard coatings for tribological applications, corrosion and applied electrochemistry, and physical vapor deposition technologies.
