Ayhan Ozcan, M.D. degree holder, serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Pathology at Gulhane Military Medical Academy (GMMA) in Turkey, where he specializes in kidney pathology (medical and nonmedical). He also serves as Director of electron microscopy. He graduated from GMMA, in 1991, where he stayed for pathology residency training for three years. He was appointed as Assistant Professor, in 2001, and Associate Professor, in 2006. His interests include nephropathology, genitourinary pathology, bone and soft tissue pathology, placental pathology, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy. He joined as a Visiting Professor at the Renal Pathology Division, Department of Pathology, Methodist Hospital in Texas for 1 year (2005-2006). After five years, he worked as a Visiting Scholar (nephropathology and genitourinary pathology) at the Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, Indiana University, for 4 months in 2010. He worked as a Visiting Scholar at the Renal and Transplant Pathology Laboratory and also as a Researcher at Renal Research Laboratory, Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, Ohio State University, for 8 months, in 2011. His active scholarly endeavors include section Editor and Peer-Reviewer for scientific journals and Lecturer in national scientific meetings.
