Elisa Vallés obtained her Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain, in 1983. She serves as a Professor at the Department of Physical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Barcelona, where she develops teaching and research works. She belongs to the Direction Board of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the University of Barcelona (IN2UB). She acts as a habitual reviewer for different scientific journals. Her actual research fields of interest are related to the electrochemical preparation and characterization of thin films and micro-/nanostructures of metals and alloys with different applications (microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), electronic devices, catalytic properties, etc.): thin films with soft or hard magnetic properties, magnetoresistive films, nanostructured films (composites and multilayers), and micro-/nanostructures of metals or alloys (structures defined by photolithography, nanowires, and micro- or nanometric magnetic particles, etc.).
