François Casas holds a Ph.D. degree in cellular and molecular endocrinology, Montpellier University, France, 1998. His expertise is in physiology, molecular and cellular biology, muscle function, metabolism, mitochondrial activity, mitochondrial endocrinology. Particularly, he experimented in molecular basis of thyroid hormone action through mitochondrial receptor discovery in our team. His professional activities include a permanent position at the INRA, August 2000 and promoted CR1, August 2004. He served as a Member of Mitochondrial Endocrinology and Nutrition team; UMR-866 Dynamique Musculaire et Métabolisme, INRA, Montpellier, France; Member of the scientific evaluation committee of INRA in animal physiology since 2011; Elected Member of the scientific committee of INRA in Research Division Animal Physiology and Livestock Systems (PHASE) (2006-2011); Elected Member of the management committee of INRA in Research Division Animal Physiology and Livestock Systems (2002-2006); Member of the Francophone Society of Diabetes; Reviewer for Journal of the Americain Aging Association, Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, Acta Biochemica et Biophysica Sinica. His national expertise include serving at ANR and international expertise include serving at NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering for Research council of Canada.
