Artur J. Jaworski
Artur J. Jaworski is the Chair of engineering at the Department of Engineering, University of Leicester, UK. He is the Head of the Thermofluids Research Group. He obtained his M.S. degree from the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology (1991), Poland, in applied mechanics, specifically in theoretical and numerical analysis of heat and mass transfer processes. In 1996, he completed his Ph.D. degree at the Department of Aeronautics, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, UK, in fluid mechanics and experimental aerodynamics. Between 1996 and 2000, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), and he conducted research in the area of sensor design and measurement and instrumentation for multiphase processes and noninvasive imaging techniques such as industrial process tomography. Since 2001, he has held lectureship and subsequently senior lectureship in engineering at the University of Manchester, UK. Moreover, he has been appointed at the University of Leicester since May 2011. Between 2004 and 2009, he has held a prestigious EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship and more recently the Royal Society Industry Fellowship (2012–2015), both in thermoacoustic technologies. His expertise lies broadly in experimental thermofluids and development of new measurement methods.
