Rui Chen works as an Associate Professor of traditional Chinese medicine, Union Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. He serves as an expert in diseases of central neural system. He received his Ph.D. degree in traditional Chinese Medicine) from Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (now Hubei University of Chinese medicine in 2006, and he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, in integrated traditional and Western medicine. He works as a Research Fellow in the Departments of General Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, Kanazawa Medical University, Ishikawa, Japan, from January 2007 to January 2010. He serves as an attending Physician and Instructor (2004) and as an Associate Professor (2009). He works as a Member of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine Association of China and as an English Editor for the national journal titled Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine on Digestion. His current research interests include TCM in preventing and treating lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, and depression. He has got 4 grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Education Division, and Hubei Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and he published 24 papers including 14 SCI papers.
