Eduardo C. Cascallar
Eduardo Cascallar received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Tex, USA. He currently works as the Managing Director for Assessment Group International (Belgium/USA), and Special Guest Professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. Previously, Dr. Cascallar served as a Principal Research Scientist at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) in Washington, DC, USA. Before joining AIR, Dr. Cascallar was the Dean of Assessment at Excelsior College, leading an international computer-delivered testing program in higher education in over 60 countries. Previously, he served as the Director of Assessment at the City University of New York, and several years as a Coordinator for Testing and Research at the Center for the Advancement of Language Learning of the USA Federal Government in Washington, DC, where he also taught at Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA. Dr. Cascallar has also served as a Research Scientist at Educational Testing Service (ETS) in Princeton, NJ, and spent several years as a Research Psychologist at the Department of Psychology of the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, Calif, USA. His research includes work on validity and reliability, IRT applications in testing, performance assessment, cognitive processing and cognitive models, language processing, psycholinguistics, predictive systems, and memory. Dr. Cascallar is active in international professional organizations and provides consulting services to academic and corporate institutions in various countries, as well as to international organizations, such as World Bank and OECD.
