Yuanwei Jin

Yuanwei Jin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering and Aviation Sciences of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. From August 2010 to June 2012, he served as the Interim Department Chair. Prior to joining the UMES in August 2008, he was a Post-doctoral Fellow and then a Research Scientist with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Professor Jin obtained his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California at Davis, Calif, USA, in 2003. His research interests are signal and image processing for radar and sonar, wireless communications, and biomedical imaging. He received a U.S. Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship award in 2010. He holds a U.S. patent and 2 U.S. provisional patents. Professor Jin is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Member of Sigma Xi, a Member of American Association for Engineering Education, and an Associate Member of the American Association for Cancer Research.
