Yumay Chen

Yumay Chen was born in Taiwan, in 1963. She received the B.S. degree from National Chung-Hsing University, Tai-Chung, Taiwan, in 1987, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas Health Science at San Antonio, Tex, USA, in 1997. Her research has been focuses on the molecular and cellular basis of stress response pathways with the believe that a thorough understanding in these pathways will lead to a better understanding of the diseases that can arise when these pathways are tampered, such as cancers, cystic disease, and diabetics. She received the Patricia Welder Robinson Young Investigator Award in 2002 and ASN Carl W. Gottschalk Research Scholar Award in 2003. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at University of California, Irvine.
