Fernando Soares Dos Reis

Fernando Soares Dos Reis was born in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 1963. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, in 1987, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianopolis, SC, Brazil, in 1990, and the Ph.D. degree in industrial electronics engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1995. He started his professional activities in 1990 at the PUCRS. Since 2004, he has been a Professor oat the Faculty of Engineering. He has published over 80 papers. His main research interest areas are renewable energy systems, PFCs, LED drivers, electronic ballasts, and power quality. He is a Member of the Brazilian Power Electronics Society (SOBRAEP) and Member of IEEE.
