He earned his PhD from the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid, Spain) in 2010 under the supervisión of profesor M. Fajardo, S. Prashar and S. Gomez. His Ph.D. thesis work involved the synthesis and characterization of new organometallic complexes and their applications in the polymerization of ethylene and propylene. He performed postdoctoral research under the directorship of Glen Deacon and Peter Junk at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia, 2009-2010) on organometallic chemistry of the main group and lanthanoid elements. Dorian Polo is a professor of Inorganic chemistry at the Universidad del Valle (Cali, Colombia) whose interests include the synthesis and characterization of organometallic compounds with biological activity. He joined the faculty at the Universidad del Valle Department of Chemistry in 2010, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011.
