I. F A Cavalcanti
I. F. A. Cavalcanti has a degree in physics from the UNESP, São José do Rio Preto, SP, Brazil; the M.S. degree in meteorology from the INPE, Lorena, SP, Brazil; and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Reading, Berkshire, UK. She has been working at the Center of Weather Forecasts and Climate Studies (CPTEC) since 1982, and joint appointment with the Center of Earth System Science (CCST), in 2009, and at the National Institute for Space Research as a Senior Researcher in the area of climate variability, teleconnections, climate change, and global and regional models simulations and projections. Her main research interests are related to climate anomalies over South America related to teleconnections, South America Monsoon System, global circulation models, precipitation extremes, and precipitation variability over South America. She supervised 10 M.S. degree theses, 8 Ph.D. degree theses, and 1 in progress. She organized 2 books and has 14 book chapters and 49 publications in journals with selective review and 27 other international publications. She has participated in several conferences and workshops with oral and posters presentations.
