Karen Manoutcharian

Karen Manoutcharian was born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1960. He received the M.S. degree in biophysics from Yerevan State University, Armenia in 1984 and the Ph.D. degree in molecular biology from the Institute of Molecular Genetics, Moscow, Russia in 1991. In additioin, he worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Amino Acids, Arm biotechnology Corp., Yerevan, Armenia (1991-1993), Research Associate at the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México (UNAM), México-City, México from 1993 to 1999, and from 1999 to present, he works as a Senior Researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomedicas, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), México-City, México. Manoutcharian is working on the development of recombinant vaccines against antigenically variable pathogens (HIV, HCV, influenza, etc.) and cancer.
