Fu-Shiung Hsieh received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in control engineering from the National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1987 and 1989, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1994. He served as a Research Fellow at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan, from 1994 to 1999. He was an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor with the Overseas Chinese Institute of Technology from 1999 to July 2004 and from August 2004 to July 2005, respectively. Since August 2005, he has been with the Chaoyang University of Technology, Taichung, Taiwan, where he is currently a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering. He has over sixty publications, including international journal and conference papers. He is a Member of the IEEE. He has served as a Guest Editor for the Asian Journal of Control. He has also served as a Referee for the International European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Automatica, Fuzzy sets and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, and Journal of Information Science and Engineering. He (co)chaired several international conferences, including the 2001 and 2006 IEEE International Conferences on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, IFAC 2008 World Congress, and SICE 2008. His research interests include operation research, manufacturing systems, multiagent systems, intelligent systems, and electronic commerce.
