Melina Vega De Ceniga
Melina Vega De Ceniga holds a degree in medicine and surgery, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Basque Country, Spain, from 1992 to 1998, and was given the Award for Extraordinary Achievement. De Ceniga received a Ph.D. degree cum laude in medicine and surgery, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), in 2013. De Ceniga received training in angiology and vascular surgery, Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid, from 1999 to 2004, and worked as a Consultant at the Department of Angiology and Vascular Surgery, Hospital de Galdakao-Usansolo, Bizkaia, since 2004. De Ceniga was part of exchange programs at the Department of Vascular Surgery of Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, USA, in 2002; Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, USA, in 2011; Stanford School of Medicine, California, USA, in 2011. De Ceniga worked as a Reviewer for the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery since 2005 and is a Member of the Editorial Board since 2008. De Ceniga worked also as a Reviewer for Annals of Vascular Surgery since 2010 till today. De Ceniga has 73 published original papers, including several in JAMA (2013), Atherosclerosis (2010, 2011, and 2012), Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology (from 2011 to 2013), British Journal of Surgery (2012), European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2012), Current Vascular Pharmacology (2013), Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology (2006), Stroke (2005), Journal of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (2014), and Annals of Vascular Surgery (2004, 2008, 2010, 2013, and 2014), 8 book chapters, and 4 awards. De Ceniga participated in 8 research projects, with grants awarded by the Spanish Heart Foundation (2002), the Health Department of the Basque Government (2008), and the European Union (2007), 71 oral presentations in national congresses, 27 international meetings, 9 awards, and 19 lectures or teaching experiences. De Ceniga is a Member of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (SEACV), from 2009 to 2013.
