Cesare Cuspidi is an Associate Professor of internal medicine at the Medical School of the University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan, Italy. He graduated as an M.D. from the University of Milan in 1977, and was Board-Certified Specialist in Cardiology at the Universty of Milan in 1977 and Board-Certified Specialist in Internal Medicine at the Unversity of Milan in 1984. In the period 1977–1981, he was a Research Fellow at the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Milan. At the same Department, he worked as an Assistant Professor from 1982 to 1997. From 1998, he was the Director of the out-patient Hypertension Clinic at the Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico of Milan. He is currently Director of the Clinical Research Unit of Istituto Auxologico Italiano and University of Milano-Bicocca , Meda, Italy. He has authored 148 full-length papers, most of them in prestigious cardiovascular peer-reviewed international journals. His research interests include hypertension and noninvasive cardiology and he focused his attention on several areas of clinical hypertension such as the assessment of cardiac and extracardiac target organ damage, left ventricular hypertrophy regression, ambulatory blood pressure, cardiovascular risk stratification, as well as metabolic and educational aspects. His professional memberships include the Italian Society of Hypertension and Italian Society of Cardiology. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Hypertension and High Blood Pressure & Cardiovascular Prevention. He is a Referee for the scientific journals Blood Pressure, European Heart Journal, Journal of Human Hypertension, Journal of Hypertension, Journal of American Hypertension, Journal Blood Pressure Monitoring, and Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation.
