Frits C. R. Spieksma
Frits C. R. Spieksma received an M.S. degree in econometrics from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, in 1987. He got a Ph.D. degree in operations research from Maastricht University in 1992 for a thesis entitled “Assignment and scheduling algorithms in automated manufacturing.” In that year, he spent time as a Visiting Scholar at The University of British Columbia in Canada. From 1993 until 2001, he worked as an Assistant and Associate Professor at Maastricht University, and in 2001 he became a Full Professor at KULeuven. Spieksma is interested in operations research, combinatorial optimization, integer programming, and applications thereof in various domains. He has been on the Board of Computers and Operations Research, Naval Research Logistics, IIE Transactions.
