Govindarajan T. Ramesh is Professor of biological sciences, Department of Biology at Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Va, USA. He completed the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry/biotechnology. Dr. Ramesh has extensive experience and a continuing interest in investigating the effects of space radiation and microgravity on central nervous system. Dr. Ramesh has a strong and very productive background in microgravity, radiation, proteomics technology, and in the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying them. He has mentored more than twenty M.S. level graduate students and two Doctoral graduate students. At present, he is mentoring three Ph.D. students. Dr. Ramesh has also mentored six postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Ramesh has three ongoing research grants funded by NSF, NSTI, and NASA. He is actively serving in grant review panels at National Science Foundation, Phillip Morris Research Foundation, Texas Emerging Technology Fund, Department of Defense, US Army, Netherland Space Agency, US-Israel Binational Science Foundation, and European Space Agency. He also serves on journal review panels for more than ten scientific journals and also part of editorial board in Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, associate editor at Neural Regeneration Research Journal. Dr. Ramesh published more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
