Ming Xu received B.S. and M.S. degrees in telecommunications from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi, China, in 1989 and 1992, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electronic and electrical engineering from University of Birmingham, West Midlands, UK, in 2001. From 1992 to 1996, he served as a Lecturer at Xi’an Jiaotong University and had worked as a Research Fellow with City University, London, UK, and Kingston University for EPSRC and European Commission Projects since 1999. Then he worked with the Department of Engineering at University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, before joining Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Jiangsu, China, as an Associate Professor in 2007. He is a Ph.D. Supervisor for University of Liverpool, Liverpool, UK. He was a recipient of the Overseas Research Students (ORS) Award from Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals, UK, from 1996 to 1999 and was awarded the Second-Class Science and Technology Award by Ministry of Education of China in 1997. He is an invited reviewer for some leading international journals and the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
