Jorge E. Tolosa

Jorge E. Tolosa is an Associate Professor of obstetrics and gynecology, received his Medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana School of Medicine in Colombia. He completed fellowships in perinatology at the University of London and Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine and residency requirements in obstetrics and gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He was senior Staff Fellow at the Perinatology Research Branch of the National Institutes of Health. He founded and coordinates the activities of the Global Network for Perinatal and Reproductive Health, which conducts applied research in prevention of maternal and neonatal death and disability, mainly in developing countries (www.gnprh.org). He is the P.I. for the Maternal Fetal Medicine Units Network of the National Institutes of Health of the USA for the center at Oregon Health and Science University. His clinical interests include epidemiology, evidence-based best health practices, preterm labor/birth, ultrasound in pregnancy, prenatal diagnosis, maternal disease in pregnancy and prevention of morbidity and mortality of mothers and babies in the developing world.
