Roberto Soler is a Researcher at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Palma, Spain. His research interests include magnetohydrodynamic waves and oscillations in the solar atmosphere, coronal and prominence seismology, and dynamics and instabilities in partially ionized plasmas. He received his Ph.D. degree in solar physics from UIB in 2010 with the thesis “Damping of magnetohydrodynamic waves in solar prominence fine structures.” Later, he was a Marie Curie IEF Fellow at the Centre for Mathematical Plasma Astrophysics of the KU Leuven, Belgium, during two years. He returned to UIB in October 2012 as a Postdoctoral Researcher.
