Jacques Huot has experience in industry as well as in academia. After obtaining his Ph.D. degree in physics, he completed postgraduate trainings at Texas A&M in College Station, Tex, USA, and at National Institute of Materials and Chemical Research in Tsukuba, Japan, where he started to work in the field of metal hydrides under the supervision of Dr. E. Akiba. Afterward, he worked in industry (Hydro-Quebec and HERA) where he investigated nanocrystalline magnesium-based alloys for hydrogen storage. Since 2004, he works as a Professor in the Physics Department of the University du Québec à Trois-Rivières and Member of the Hydrogen Research Institute. He developed an expertise in gas-solid reactions in metal hydrides as well as in materials characterization. Dr. Huot is Member of the Editorial Board of Advances in Materials Science and Engineering and Editorial Advisory Board of Journal of Alloys and Compounds. He has served as an Invited Researcher at the Institute for Energy Technology (Norway), Federal University of São Carlos (Brazil), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (Japan), Université de Bordeaux (France), Institut NÉEL (France), and Max Plank Institut fur Kohlenforschung (Germany). He is also a Member of the Canadian Institute for Neutron Scattering Oversight Committee on the Canadian Neutron Beam Centre.
