Angel Uranga

Angel Uranga was born in Andoain, Spain, in 1970. He carried out undergraduate physics studies at Universidad del País Vasco in Bilbao and at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He received his Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics in late 1997. After being a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton (1997–1999) and a fellow at CERN (1999–2001), Geneva, he got a Ramón y Cajal contract and, subsequently, a permanent position at the Instituto de Física Teórica UAM/CSIC in Madrid, Spain, where he is a Full Professor. Uranga's main expertise is in the string theory and its application to particle physics. He is the author of over 60 research papers, with around 5000 citations, and several widely known and used papers.
