Odile Lecompte was born in France in 1972. She worked as a Bioinformatician in the Laboratoire de Recombinaisons Génétiques (CNRS, Rennes, France) and in the Laboratoire de Biotechnologie des Microorganismes Hydrothermaux (IFREMER, Brest, France). She received her Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics and genomics in 2002. She is now a Lecturer at the University of Strasbourg, France. She works in the field of comparative and evolutionary genomics in the Laboratory of Integrative Bioinformatics and Genomics at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC, France). She develops tools for orthology prediction, annotation, and validation/correction of information through integration of data from omics and evolutionary context. She uses these integrative approaches to study various biological systems such as macromolecular complexes (ribosome, TFIIH, and TFIID), genomes (Pyrococcus abyssi and Mycobacterium smegmatis), transcriptomes (Alvinella pompejana), pathways, and regulation networks.
