Khaled Rasheed is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Georgia, Athens, Ga, USA. He also serves as the Graduate Coordinator of the UGA Institute for Artificial Intelligence. He received his Ph.D. degree from Rutgers University in January 1998 on his work on adapting genetic algorithms for problems in engineering design. His research interests include artificial intelligence, genetic algorithms, design optimization, bioinformatics, and machine learning. Rasheed has served on the program committees of several conferences including the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference and the International Conference on Machine Learning and as reviewer for several journals including IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research, Journal of Machine Learning Research, Machine Learning Journal, and Artificial Intelligence in Engineering Design and Manufacturing.
