Salil Kanhere received his B.E. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Bombay, Bombay, India, in 1998 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA, in 2001 and 2003, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW, Sydney, Australia. His current research interests include pervasive computing, participatory sensing, wireless sensor networks, vehicular communication, mobile computing, and network security. He is a senior member of the IEEE and the ACM. He received the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship in 2014.
