Dean M. Hanink earned his Ph.D. in Geography at the University of Georgia (USA). He is a Professor of Geography at the University of Connecticut and also a member of the graduate faculty in Agricultural and Resource Economics there. He has general research interests in economic geography and regional science. He is particularly interested in the spatial analysis of regional economic and environmental change. He has worked in the areas of location theory, resources and environment, and spatial patterns of international trade. Current research emphases include the links between economic and environmental sustainability, hedonic real estate price analysis, and the ongoing role of state activity in the locational patterns of China’s economy.
