Fabio Farinati

Fabio Farinati has received an M.D. degree. He serves as a Chair of gastroenterology at the Department of Surgical and Gastroenterological Sciences, Padova University Hospital. In 1978, he graduated in medicine at Padua University with full marks and Laude. In 1982, he acquired a Specialization in gastroenterology with full marks and Laude. In 1987, he acquired a Specialization in oncology. In 1980, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Internal Medicine of Padua University. In 1984, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education of the New York University. In 2005, he worked as an Associate Professor of gastroenterology at Padua University. He received the Award of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates in 1982. He serves as a Research Fellow of the Alcohol Research and Treatment Center at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York in 1983, an Assistant Medical Professor of the Sophie Davies School of Biomedical Education of the City University of New York in 1984. He gained the Award at the V° Symposium on Helicobacter Pylori, Dublin in 1992 and Glaxo Gastroenterology Award in 1989. He serves as a Member at Italian Society of Gastroenterology (SIGE), 1985, Italian Society for the Study of the Liver (AISF), 1985, European Cancer Prevention Organization (ECP), 1992, European Association for the Study of the Liver, 2005, and International Liver Cancer Association (Founding Member). He published 176 full papers in international journals (including Gastroenterology, Gut, Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, Cancer, B.J.Cancer, Lancet, Int.J.Cancer , J.Nat.Cancer Inst.) and 42 book chapters. In addition, he served referee for numerous authoritative international Journals including Cancer, Gut, Am.J.Gastroenterology and others. He is part of the Editorial Board of Digestive and Liver Disease and of the World J.Gastroenterology and Vice President of the Italian Society of Gastroenterology
