Lawrence M. Lewis
Lawrence M. Lewis MD Associate professor of Emergency Medicine and Medicine Washington University School of Medicine Areas of expertise: Abdominal pain, asthma, anaphylaxis, head injury, mammalian bites Dr. Lewis is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians since 1987. He served as a board examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine from 1996 until 2010, and served as a United States Medical Licensing Examination item writer from 2005-2007. He is a reviewer for several journals including Annals of Emergency Medicine and Academic Emergency Medicine, also serving as an associate editor for Academic Emergency Medicine. He has authored or co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles, and written several textbook chapters on a variety of topics including abdominal imaging, bites and stings, and valvular heart disease. He is a practicing emergency physician at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, where he served as Chief of the Division from 1994 through 2004.
