Teesta Soman

Dr. Teesta Soman is a consultant Pediatric Neurologist (M.D., Fellow-American Academy of Pediatrics, American Acad Neurology), presently with Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. She is the Director of the Movement Disorders Service at Sickkids and Assistant Professor at University of Toronto. She is also a neurologist at the Tourette Syndrome Neurodevelopmental Clinic at the Toronto Western Hospital. Dr. Soman got her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University and post graduate medical training from the University of Illinois at Chicago and Massachussetts General Hospital, Harvard University. She also has an M.B.A. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Dr. Soman has published several research papers, book chapters and presented in international conferences. Her research interests are in Movement Disorders in Children, such as Dystonia, Tics and Tourette Syndrome and other neurological disabilities in children. She teaches medical students, physicians in-training (residents and fellows). She has organized many workshops for practicing physicians as well as physicians in-training. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Neurology, Child Neurology Society and International taskforce for Deep Brain Stimulation in Children.
