About Us

Hindawi Publishing Corporation is a commercial publisher of STM (Science, Technology, and Medicine) literature. Founded in 1997, Hindawi currently employs more than 250 people, and publishes more than 100 peer-reviewed journals. In February 2007, Hindawi announced its full conversion to Open Access, making it the only publisher with fully developed Open Access journals spanning such a wide range of subjects in science, technology, and medicine. All of Hindawi's journals maintain the highest standards of quality, with Editorial Boards composed of scholars from around the world. In addition, many of Hindawi's journals are published in association with one or more scholarly societies.

Over the past several years, Hindawi has seen an increase of more than 40% per year in the number of submitted manuscripts it receives. Since its full conversion to Open Access in February 2007, Hindawi's growth has continued to accelerate, with monthly submission levels growing by more than 100% during 2007. Despite this rapid growth, Hindawi has managed to maintain the highest possible quality in terms of its editorial standards and production processes. Hindawi receives a constant stream of positive author comments, and a growing number of Hindawi's journals are being tracked by the leading abstracting and indexing services.

Hindawi is a member of many leading industry organizations including the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM), the UK Serials Group (UKSG), and the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). Hindawi was also an early member of CrossRef, the scholarly DOI linking organization. Moreover, all of Hindawi's content is archived in Portico, which provides permanent archiving for electronic scholarly journals, as well as via the LOCKSS initiative. In December 2006, Hindawi was certified with the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system by TÜVRheinland.
