Community Journals
The “Community Journals” published by Hindawi are journals that are run by distributed editorial boards. These journals, by nature of their collaborative editorial model, are deeply rooted in the communities they serve.
The editorial workflow that every journal uses is publicized online at the journal web site. The responsibilities of managing the peer-review process are equally shared among the members of the editorial board. Every submitted manuscript to the journal is directed to one of the editors who either rejects it for lack of quality or sends it to external reviewers and makes a decision of accepting or rejecting it based on their review reports. The name of the editor who accepted the manuscript is indicated in the final published version of the manuscript.
Although editors are invited without a predetermined editorial term, the journal editorial board membership is managed on an as-needed basis to ensure adequate subject coverage as well as efficient peer-review for all submitted manuscripts.
