As a distinct part of the dendritic cell system, Langerhans cells are important sentinels of the immune system in the skin. The scope of the workshop will be the immunobiology of Langerhans cells under physiological and, even more importantly, pathological conditions. Langerhans cells are involved in many dermatological diseases (e.g., SLE, atopic dermatitis, skin cancers, etc.) in ways that are currently being investigated. The workshop aims at bringing together and discussing the state-of-the-art knowledge on these topics with the perspective of ultimately being able to employ such knowledge for treating diseases.

The first international photopatch test course will be held in Krakow
(Cracow), Poland on 18-19 September 2009. The interested audiences are
dermatologists, allergists, and researchers in the fields of photobiology,
