The very early luminosity history of SN 1987A as observed with the fine error sensor of IUE and the 0.41-m at CTIO. Data points taken at Goddard Space Flight Center by Sonneborn & Kirshner, and at the Villafranca Station in Madrid, are marked (see Section 2). The diameter of the circles representing the CTIO data is about three times the error. A V magnitude scale, for excess light above the minimum near day 7, is given, within the frame, on the right.
