Day 0 is the beginning of the experiments. The animals were 6 weeks old and they were starved (STR) for 20 h prior to the induction of diabetes. STZ, daily injection of streptozotocin at a concentration of 40 mg/Kg body weight for consecutive 5 days (D1 to D5). Ten days (D6 to D15) after the last STZ injection, the wounds (W) were created and the day of the wounding is taken as W1; TT, various topical treatments as given in Table 4.
