The (smoothed) percentage of hydrophobic residues at each position (1 is the N-terminus) for each class of sequence. Data is smoothed with a window size of five, centred on the given residue. The dotted line is for all HP sequences of length 20 with a unique global minimum. The other four lines correspond to groups 𝐶, 𝐼, 𝐵, and 𝐺, as described in the text. Of greatest interest here is the fact that hydrophobicity in the nitrogen terminus region for group 𝐶 is higher than that in the carbon terminus region.
